Overview

Testers are small devices with testing abilities that include reverse polarity, open-ground, open-neutral, open-hot, hot-and-ground-reversed, hot-on-neutral, hot-unwired, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) functional and receptacle tension.

Combination receptacle-circuit testers and GFCI testers are compact combination testers with three neon indicating lights that provide a convenient way to test 3-wire, 115VAC, single-phase, polarized-outlets. These testers check for proper GFCI operation, correct wiring, reverse polarity, open-ground, open-neutral, open-hot, hot-and-ground-reversed as well as hot-on-neutral/hot-unwired.

Receptacle-tension testers are insulated in impact-resistant plastic housings and provide checks for spring-contact tension of standard straight-blade receptacles and are safe for use on energized receptacles. Designed to test 15A, 125V, 2-pole, 2-wire; 15A, 125V, 2-pole, 3-wire; 20A, 125V, 2-pole and 3-wire rated outlets. Each blade has an independent spring to relieve stress and assure consistent readings over a long life. A carrying case with a pocket clip is included.
