Fiber V-Grooves and Arrays

From a few optical fibers to thousands, Molex Fiberguide custom optical fiber v-grooves and arrays are meticulously crafted using proprietary manufacturing techniques. They are designed for use in any application that requires tight tolerances and repeatability for both optical and mechanical performance. Optical arrays and v-grooves are primarily used in optical switching and sensing applications where spatial optical data is necessary. Examples include telecommunications, astronomy and nuclear research.

Single Fiber Assemblies

Molex Fiberguide offers standard single fiber assemblies for a wide range of applications including, medical devices, bioanalytical instrumentation, spectroscopy, industrial sensing, and low-power and high-power laser light delivery. These are available with various optical fibers, industry-standard connectors, and packaged using several kinds of sheathing.

High-Power Fiber Assemblies

Assemblies include high-power SMA and D-80 compatible connector options that provide superior thermal management while minimizing connector stress for numerical aperture (NA) conservation.

End-Capped High-Power Assemblies

Molex Fiberguide endcaps help to achieve greater coupling efficiency into a fiber core for high-power applications. By reducing the density of power at the silica/air interface of the fiber, endcaps can help to significantly increase transmission while decreasing the possibility of fiber-based, laser- induced damage.

Shaped Fiber Tip Assemblies

Shaped fiber tip assemblies are machined from the fiber, while independent lens components are incorporated into a fiber assembly. Each approach expands optical delivery and collection in ways that would not be possible with a typical fiber end-finish. Shaped tips and lenses can be applied to most silica optical fibers regardless of core size, numerical aperture (NA) or wavelength.
