Overview

Many new product designs require specific numbers of signal circuits, and it can be difficult to source small-pitch, multiple-circuit FFC/FPC connectors. Molex's Easy-On FFC/FPC Connecters are available with a wide variety of features to promote design flexibility. Among such features are pitch sizes that range from 0.20 to 2.00mm, circuit sizes from 2 to 96, actuator types that include front flip, back flip, slider, One-Touch and LIF, in a right-angle or vertical orientation. Ideal for consumer, mobile devices, and automotive markets.

During assembly, coplanarity issues and multiple-step processes can cause errors and delays. Molex's Easy-On FFC and FPC connectors are reliable, robust and easy to operate, ideal for robotic mating and fully automated SMT processes. With minimized warpage and Nickel-plated terminals, Molex's Flexible Flat Cable/Flexible Printed Circuit Connectors are designed and tested to solve coplanarity or other issues that occur during the SMT process.

Customers need stable supply chains and manufacturers that meet various product compliances requirements. As a proven leader within the industry, Molex provides dependable quality products that meet various environmental standards and RoHS certifications, assured capacity, knowledgeable engineering support and reliable business continuity planning (BCP).

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the features and benefits of the different types of actuator methods of FFC/FPC connectors?
The different types of actuator methods of FFC/FPC connectors are:

ZIF: A Zero Insertion Force actuator allows no friction mating, resulting in a higher mating life cycle.
Front Flip: The actuator and terminal are vertically stacked, with a wide frontage for easier insertion and a higher height and narrower depth.
Back Flip: Located on the anti-slip side, reducing its height, the actuator with its wide depth can connect the top and the bottom surfaces.
Slider Type: The actuator's linear opening and closing trajectory make it easy to operate with automation. It has a higher retention force than other FFC/FPC connectors without ears.
One-Touch: Notched FFC/FPC with auto-lock mechanism and a push-button facilitating easy cable removal, the One-Touch design facilitates the ease of the mating process.
Non-ZIF: Features one-action mating (insert FFC/FPC to mate) without any actuator operation and allows the removal of foreign substances by wiping the FFC/FPC with the contacts.

Which is Pin Number 1?
The triangle mark on the actuator indicates PIN 1. But, in some series, the triangle mark may not be there. In that case, we consider the left pin at the FFC/FPC insertion open mouth side as the PIN 1, leaving the option for the end-user to choose from left-to-right or right-to-left.
